Hello Traveler! This is Elsie, your host of Tunes from the Tavern, the fantasy/ bardcore show here on WMWC.
For our final week together, I thought to take a little jaunt through some of the songs we heard this season and prep a ren faire playlist!
Up first, of course, Is Heather Dale. I recently found out that her song “Come and be welcome” is an actual medieval song used by bards. When I was recently at an SCA event we opened the bardic with it and it was so cool. So here is,
- Come and Be Welcome
- Mordred’s Lullaby
Next up are some folky tunes from lesser known artists that are becoming a staple in the niche. Here is,
- Passerine (The Oh Hello’s)
- Hartebeest (Yaelokre)
- Bone to Bone (Small Fools)
Next we’re going to Ireland with,
- The Queen of Argyll (Goitse)
- Marie’s Wedding (The High Kings)
- Irish Eyes (Rose Betts)
Up next are some Sea Shanties!
- Dare Ye Cry Mercy (Sirena)
- Roll the Old Chariot Along (David Coffin)
- Twiddles (Misbehavin’ Maidens)
Two songs from Two amazing artists,
- The Rider (Paris Paloma)
- Paint it Black (Hildegard von Blingin’)
Second to last, I have to play Celtic Woman
- Dúlaman
- Follow Me
Finally, to close out this season is the classic
- Soldier, Poet, King (The Oh Hellos)
Well Traveler, it’s time to go on your way. Thank you for joining me at WMWC this year. I love doing this silly little show. Go out, have an adventure or two, and we’ll meet again in the cold depths of January.
